What we thought of the Commando UTR event


You may turn your nose up at a 16-19s event but for the first time I attended one just the other week, this event exceeded my expectations 
completely and I would recommend it to anyone who enjoys having a good time. The event itself was held at the Ministry of Sound, for
those of you who havent been you're really missing out. 



The sound system and cool bars mean that this club really is an amazing place to be.


Some may consider theamed nights as tacky but if your looking for a bit of fun and dont take yourself to seriously you wont be dissaponted. 

We spent the extra money on VIP tickets and it was really worth it, with special access to the VIP bar upstairs we had a cool area to cool 
down in after raving it up to some of the awesome acts they had performing there that night.

Whats Up and comming

On the way up a craze that will surely get you going. Juggling it doesn't just have to be something that stays in the circus, this hobbie is cool and fun for both those juggling and those watching.If your not sure check out the Camden Juggleing work shops website

Nerds, we've allways been here and in case you hadn't noticed we're here to stay. Whether it was Skins that made Nerds seem adorable again or some other higher power Nerd are deffinatly on the up

Loving Kiss 100.fm. Ok so we loved it anyway but its been the soundtrack to our summer and were more in love than ever!

Being patriotic, we may not have the best government in the world but I still think we live in one of the most indervidual contries in the world, come on look at Brit Pop The Verve, Oasis, Blur and The Clash and our fashion who needs Paris or Milan.

Sequins you may of thought this trend died with the dinosaurs but it's comming back with avengengence. If you keep it down to a minimum its fantastic and a huge love of mine.

Whats going down

Lazy days in the park, lets face it the weather wasn't this great this summer anyway but now the seasons comming to an end this is deffinatly a trend on it's way out.

Tatoos it's been a cool look for the last couple years but can something really be cool when so many people are covered head to toe.

Boy racers, really who want's to know someone who's car accessories are worth more than the actual car, it would be more worthwhile spending the money on a better car.

Parents having facebook ! seriously do we want them to know every little thing that we get up to! the fact that they know everything that we do in the house is bad enough.

Boris Johnson, it was funny now it's just ridiculous, he is a bumbling baffon he doesn't inspire young people in london. Maybe we should make this compulsory for the next election.

Groups on facebook, do we really pay that much attention once we've joined them.

Places to go ..........

Southbank whether there's a festival on or not Southbank is one of those places that's always interesting. You have the London Eye the National Theatre the Tate modern and so much more. If that's not your thing then there are some great places to skate, shop and eat what more could you want XD

Brighton, what happens in Brighton stays in Brighton! It's one of those places that will never loose it's appeal to the student populas. Whether it's on the beach or in one of the many clubs it has something for eveyone, just be carefull you don't come home with a tatoo or piercing.

Newcastle bar around every corner (they also have a cool gallery) No-one can say that Newcastle is like anywhere else in Britain but thats why we love it.

Bristol we've all seen skins It may not be just like the real thing but we would like to think so.

Music of the moment

Move over Lady Gaga we did find your act indirvidual but the amount of radio play time you got for poker face should never been allowed.

One of the acts that caught our eye is back with a new album and it looks like his lyrics will be on everyone's lips. That's Just Jack with his new single the day that I died, It's got the same just jack feel that we got with stars in their eyes.

Another artist who we are bound get allot more out of this year is Calvin Harris, his songs really have played a huge part in our summer, whether its been a combined effort with another artist or it's just pure Calvin Harris this artist/ producer has got all the right boxes ticked.

Lily Allen we love her because she really is one of a kind, she's one of the few artists about that can manage to bring us close to tears, laugh and even Blush.

Tinchey Strider, he's young and full of ideas this one I think we should keep an eye on.

How to plan a Great Party

A great party isn't allways the easiest thing in the world to organise what you have to remember is that there are a few vital things that you need to have, and heres a list of what you will allways need for any party.

A good mix of guests, you may look like motley crew but it is a vital ingredient and always makes for an intresting evening.

a good selection of music remember not everyone likes RnB but no-one can dance to Metal either.

Idealy food and drink, if you can't stretch for both go for the drink option both alcohol and soft drinks are what you really need after a good dance, and for those drinking it loosens you up so you can get everyone mingling. Any wacky coloured alcoholic drink you can get is always a plus.

Random Quirks, anything like glow sticks or a Pinata, we may not be five years old anymore but everyone enjoys it in the end.

Any fairy or christmas light you have hanging around put into use, you don't only have to use them once a year and they can make any inside or outside area look pretty or cool.

A note for whoever is hosting a party RELAX! I know it can be hard but whats the point in you not having fun at your own party, remember don't take yourself too seriously.

Say it with letters

Somethimes things arn't allways easy to say face to face that's why I am a big fan of letters. Taking the time to get your thoughts in order is a great way to get a message through to a friend. Not only that but it really does show that you care. I still have a letter written to me by my best friend and although it may not be the happiest of topics it still means the world to me that she took the time to write it.

Maybe I'm on my own with this but as convienient as email is there is something really nice about recieving an a letter in the post, I mean other than bills and birthday cards we very rarely recieve anything through the post.

Why you should go on a Roadtrip

While you can go on a Roadtrip. Your not even limited to this country you could honestly go anywhere. Why don't you start planning the Roadtrip of a lifetime for next summer with a great group of mates. Next Summer may seem like a long way away but hounestly it will be here before you know it and you will want to be prepared.

Whether you choose to stay at different Inns, hotels or have a go at camping imagine the fun you could have with it.

Where I work

I work at a company called Lucidica who do IT Support in London, that in fact is how I ended up doing this website. As an apprentice engineer it was part of my development plan to build a website and see if I had a flare for all things web :) As a matter of fact I am not the only engineer who has made a site my colleague Joanna has made an awesome site called watching the world why dont you let her know what you think !
